Queen Naija Medicine Top Billboard Hit

Queen Naija is a 22-year-old Michigan native, a YouTube Vlogger and now a Top 100 Billboard Artist. She has gone from a YouTube Star with a following of 2.3 million  (2,954,958) subscribers all the way up the Billboard 100 Charts. The reaction to her chart-topping hit Medicine has been insane.

Queen Naija’s Very Public Breakup

Back in the fall of 2017 Queen had a very public breakup from her then husband Chris Sails. But she didn’t let her viral breakup become a public spectacle. Instead she chose to channel all of her energy and raw emotions into Medicine the debut track off of her upcoming EP. Her breakup quite literally was her Billboard breakthrough. She turned her pain into her power. She shifted her focus from her breakup and focused on herself. She used her gift for singing to help heal her hurt and to rise above. Queen chose to rise regardless. Through it all she remained positive. She didn't allow it to shatter her. Because no one likes to be embarrassed or made to feel stupid. I have so much respect for Queen and how she didn't let the circumstances around her breakup derail her from her destiny.

Queen Naija Medicine Overnight Viral Success

Before Queen’s overnight viral success with Medicine, she was a successful YouTuber with a very popular self-titled channel “Queen Naija”. Her channel was where she posted vlogs about her life and interacted with her “#ROYALTYSQUAD”. In the time that she has released Medicine, the video has garnered over 21,792,104 million views on YouTube to date. Update: 52,345,407 views July 27, 2018 The audio has racked up 17,883,830 (20,849,522) views on YouTube. Queen is undeniable!!! It is only up from here for the Michigan native.

How Queen Naija Leveraged Her Breakup

Queen used her heartbreak to write music. Her breakup was the inspiration for the song Medicine. It was her way of working through the pain of her breakup. I guess you can say in a way it was her own “medicine” so to speak. It was her therapy for releasing the pain and embarrassment. I have to say the track is fire. It's SPICY! It has a real nice R&B groove to it. It's relatable to anyone who has been through a breakup. I see Medicine being the Breakup Anthem of 2018. Even though the song is about exacting revenge on a cheating ex, Queen is not about revenge. She is really a humble person. She gives thanks to God and her loyal supporters for her success.

What we can Learn From Queen Naija Medicine
