Queen Naija is no Stranger to Heartbreak

Queen Naija today is a different woman. Looking at her you would never know the heartbreak that this 23-year-old Detroit native has been through. She has been through the fire and back. But through it all she has come through stronger and more powerful than ever. If you don't know who Queen Naija is she is a famous YouTuber and a young upcoming R&B singer and songwriter of the hit song Medicine who's video has garnered over 80,572,046 views on YouTube since March 2018.

Queen Naija The Back Story

What you may or may not know about Queen (yes that is her real name) is that a year ago she went through a very public and embarrassing breakup and subsequent divorce. It was all over social media and the tea pages. Her then husband Chris Sails cheated on her and he was exposed on social media. Queen being the woman that she is, gave him a second chance and  she stayed. He cheated again and that was it for her. She knew her marriage was over. Little did the world know that her public pain and humiliation would become her power and her platform.

Fast forward to today and Queen Naija is blowing up the Billboard music charts and all the major music streaming platforms. Here pain has been the catalyst for her music. There is a lot we can learn from Queen Naija. She may be young, but she has been through some things. Here are some lessons we can all learn from Queen Naija. I honestly believe that we are here to teach one another and help each other grow so that we can become better.

Lesson #1 from Queen Naija

"Be unapologetically you." No matter what, flaws and all be proud of who you are, your growth. Never apologize for being who you are. Let go of the hurt and pain and focus on you. Don't worry what other people may think or say about you. It doesn't matter. That is their problem not yours. Your breakup is an opportunity to take back your life and glow up. Truly embrace who you are and do you. It really is not your problem who doesn't like it.

Lesson #2 from Queen Naija

"Forgiveness is mandatory." It is necessary for your healing. A true sign of strength and personal power is being able to forgive. When you think about it, it's not about who broke your heart. Forgiveness is about you. It's about forgiving yourself and the other person so that you can move on. Not forgiving is giving your power away. When you harbor unforgiveness and bitterness you can't move on. You get stuck in a holding pattern. The thing is holding patterns are for planes, not people. At the end of the day, forgiveness is really about giving yourself permission to be great and setting yourself free from the past, the hurt and the pain.

Lesson #3 from Queen Naija

"Love yourself first." Because the best love is loving yourself. It's true what they say self love is the best love. Love and cherish the real you. Breakups can wear you down mentally, emotionally, spiritually, financially and physically. And it can be hard to love yourself through it. But the key to getting through it is to show yourself love and compassion. Love yourself to the highest and accept no BS. Focus on being the best version of yourself and becoming better. Queen has become a stronger, bolder more confident version of herself. She did that!

Lesson #4 from Queen Naija

"Never bitter, only better." Despite having a very public  breakup that went viral, Queen has kept it all the way classy. It hasn't been easy, but she has managed to not let her breakup break her. Instead she continues to use her experience to make her stronger. Breakups are tough and messy. They are hard at best. Queen is human just like the rest of us and she still is dealing with the aftermath of her marriage ending. But she is handling it like a boss. As she says, "I’m doing things I never thought I could do without him.” Now this is a woman who has taken back her power, reclaimed her throne and snatched back her crown. Her like has taken a full 360 turn. Seriously, anything is possible.

Lesson #5 from Queen Naija

"Accept that the past will never be the future". Your relationship ended for a reason. As hard as it is to accept not everyone is meant to be in your life. Regardless if you had history there comes a point where you have to accept things, let go and move on as Queen says. "Stop going back to what you are trying to heal from." Very wise words. Your ex is your because they just weren't a good fit for you. We try to force people to fit into our lives when they have no real business being in our life. If someone is not adding to your life it's time to walk away. I get it, I didn't want to be single. So I held on, when I knew better.
